Gilda Carter from Mississippi

My name is Gilda Carter. I am a 47 year old woman, and I try to take care of myself. However, I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2000. I'm doing really well thanks to God and my doctors. I was diagnosed in the early stages of it, so it is manageable without a lot of medication; I take one pill a day. My physician, Dr. David Sullivan, encouraged me to loose weight because I'm borderline for diabetes. I decided I was going to do something about it because my mother was a diabetic and she died. Seeing my mother suffer with it was encouragement enough for me to do something about it. I'm trying to improve my health by exercising at least four times a week. I'm not too big, but I know I need to drop at least 15 pounds because of my height. I am short -4 ft. 11 inches. So far I haven't been able to lose any weight. This picture was taken May 31, 2008. Thanks for listening.
