The office is provided with a complete system that is installed and maintained by AccentHealth. The system includes a 32" flat panel LCD TV, custom-configured PC and the monthly CNN program with custom messaging feature.

The PC acts as the station that receives, stores and plays content on the screen in addition to controlling volume commands and monitoring proper PC playback performance. This configuration allows the AccentHealth program to be downloaded over the existing LAN. This download occurs once a month and takes place after business hours. However, we can adjust the schedule to meet your needs.

AccentHealth's PC is running a hardened Linux OS. The PC initiates outbound connections to our server farm. We cannot initiate inbound connections to the PC, thus we cannot access it remotely. This keeps the network security features intact.

Our program is delivered digitally through your existing Internet connection to a PC we install for you with the new TV. This PC contacts the AccentHealth servers for new programming. Once a new program is available, downloads are automatically scheduled to be delivered via secure encrypted methods over the Internet after normal business hours. For multiple site customers, localized content distribution methods are utilized to minimize network impacts.

Digital delivery allows AccentHealth to update our program seamlessly, provide current information, such as local weather updates and offer our customers the capability to create and broadcast practice-specific messages within their waiting areas.

No. The AccentHealth program is transmitted in what is known as a "store and forward" format. Our content plays back from the PC once the program has been downloaded

No. There is no increase in Internet charges for AccentHealth program downloads. And because our downloads only occur after regular office hours, it does not interfere with normal Internet activity.

Absolutely not! Private patient information cannot be accessed by AccentHealth. Our PC has restricted access to only our file servers and is configured to only "talk" to our servers via outbound connections. No inbound connections to the PC can be initiated, thus no one can access the system from a remotely initiated connection. This keeps the network's security features intact. AccentHealth has designed this system with HIPAA compliance in mind.

Broadband connectivity with a minimum bandwidth of 128 Kbps. This bandwidth must be available after normal business hours.

AccentHealth's monthly program is approximately 1 GB of data (smaller than a movie!) and is transferred after normal business hours as bandwidth allows. Providing custom messages and weather updates through an RSS feed requires a small file transfer (approximately the same as emailing a picture) at various times during the course of a normal business day (RSS feeds do not honor after hours download control times to allow for timely updates during the view day). We can even throttle the bandwidth to meet your specifications.

In most instances, the answer is no. For larger facilities, minor adjustments to the firewall configuration may be required.

IT staff and/or IT sub-contracted or IT third party vendors MUST BE notified to ensure a smooth installation. The installation should also be scheduled around their availability. Firewall ports must be open and available to our technicians.
