Ingredients
- ½ cup uncooked regular oats
- ¼ cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cold butter
- 3 medium red Anjou pears, sliced
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Procedure
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Combine the oats, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl and cut in the butter with a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture is crumbly. Set that aside.
- Combine the pear and lemon juice in a bowl and toss it well.
- Spoon the pear mixture into a 9-inch pie plate or baking dish coated with cooking spray.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the pear mixture.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until it is golden brown.
- Serve with low-fat vanilla ice cream if you desire.
